I enjoyed learning about all of these world wide wedding traditions. However, I am glad that I don't live in Ireland!
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to read your paper on all of the different foods. I too did wedding foods around the world, but, I stuck with the wedding cake. It is interesting to read that over time many traditions have stuck when it comes to the feast.
ReplyDeleteI have had those mexican wedding cookies before... I didn't like them at all, yuck! But I like the sound of all the other foods they serve!
ReplyDeleteKind of interesting what the foods represent. I could have done without the picture of whatever that was with a face. I like my meals to have the face already gone!
ReplyDeleteIt's so amazing to consider all of the expansive customs around the world, especially regarding weddings. It's hard to imagine our "wedding foods" being unique to the United States, but your report really put it into perspective. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAll these foods and traditions are so different! I love seeing this kind of diversity, and all in the common context of marriage. There is such a rich tradition and community when celebrating with foods that have been eaten in the same situations for centuries. I wish Americans had that (well, something more than cake, anyway!).
ReplyDeleteWeddings are extremely important and for most it is the happiest day in their entire life. I find it very interesting to see how different cultures celebrate weddings and the significance they place on the exciting day. I liked reading the part about the food present for a wedding in Africa especially enjoyed learning about the specific types of drinks that are custom.
ReplyDeleteIt seams that if the food is good at a wedding, everything else falls into place.
ReplyDeleteI found it interesting that Chinese serve Chicken and Duck to represent their relationship.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading all the differing wedding foods, crazy stuff... Spoiled eggs, yuck! You did amazing, great job!
ReplyDeleteYou really did great I had to change a few things since my previous post above was a weird long name! lol
ReplyDeleteThe food in those photos looks amazing, I am literally getting hungry right now. Keep posting!
